I was glad when they said to me, “Let us go to the house of the Lord.” Psalm 122:1
Daily chapel is central to our daily activities and experience at Lutheran High School North. Students and faculty gather around the Word of God each day for worship – four days a week in an all-school chapel setting and once a week in student-led small groups.
Participation in chapel sets the tone for the day and demonstrates our unity as members of the body of Christ. As we worship, Chapel involves and engages both vertical (our relationship to God through the Word and prayer) and horizontal (our relationship in service with one another and the surrounding community and world) realms. Together, these two form the sign of the cross, which confirms what God has done for us through the death and resurrection of His Son, Jesus Christ. As Crusaders, we are followers of Jesus.
Chapel includes Scripture reading, prayers, hymns, confessions of faith, messages, responsive readings, and offerings. Drama, special music, and guest speakers are also part of the presentation of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Students take an active part in leading chapel as they serve as readers, acolytes, prayer leaders, and musical presenters.
The first chapel of each week presents the Scripture readings for the week as we pass through each season of the church year. The chapel banners are displayed accordingly.
