About Us

Lutheran High School North is a mission driven school which is centered in Jesus Christ. Lutheran North is a school rich in academic excellence and extra curricular activities.

In order for our mission to be fulfilled each day we have three guiding principles: to nurture spiritually, academically and holistically. Everyday in a diverse community we have the opportunity to nurture students in faith in their Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. We do this through daily chapel, theology classes, all classes and in all of our relationships and activities. The theme of repentance, forgiveness, and renewal is encouraged in all school relationships.

Second, we provide students with the opportunity to receive an excellent education. An excellent education does not simply happen in the classroom. It happens on the athletic fields and courts, in the hallways, in our churches and in our communities. We strive to provide each of our students with an holistic educational opportunity that truly nurtures the students spiritually and academically.

Nearly 95% percent of our students are involved in at least one co-curricular activity while they are at Lutheran North. This is a blessing! Students have the opportunities outside of the classroom to be involved and active. Students are also required to complete 70 hours of “Saved to Serve” service to their school, church and communities.

Over 96% of our students go on to college after graduation. The colleges and universities that they are attending are numerous. They range from our state universities to the Ivy League schools. Many of our students attend our Lutheran universities as well.

Lutheran North has a proud rich tradition that was dedicated on August 25, 1946 at Lake and Waterman Avenues in St. Louis. The Crusaders remained in this location until 1965 when they moved to a new facility at 5401 Lucas and Hunt in North St. Louis County. The campus of 47 acres is bounded by Norwood County Club on two side and an apartment complex. This unique location provides a safe, quiet, and private setting.

Lutheran North is governed by a 15 member Board of Trustees, elected by the appointed delegates of the 63 member Lutheran congregations of the Greater St. Louis Area. Lutheran North is accredited by the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools, National Lutheran Schools and is a Charter Member of the National Alliance of High Schools.

Nondiscriminatory Policy

It does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national and ethnic origin in administration of its educational policies, admissions policies, scholarship and loan programs, and athletic and other school administered programs.
